Zhang Shuangjin leads the villagers to prosperity and is their guide

Wenjiashan Village is a remote mountain village located in Dongliang Township, Yu County, a typical pure agricultural village. The village has a population of nearly 1,000, and the per capita income of the villagers is generally not high. Because of its remote location, inconvenient transportation, and the lax cohesion of Party members and villagers, it once became a backward village in the county. But now this village has taken on a new look - the village is clean and tidy, the leadership is united, and the villagers' pockets are fuller year after year... Behind these achievements is a great deal of effort from village Party branch secretary Zhang Shuangjin.

Zhang Shuangjin is a "veteran cadre" in the village. Since 1988, he has served as director of the village committee. In 2013, he was elected village Party branch secretary, still facing a poor and chaotic village. But he did not shrink back. Instead, he plunged into the practice of leading the whole village's people out of poverty and toward prosperity. "As a village cadre, the villagers' affairs are my affairs. The village's development and the villagers' happiness are my greatest pursuit." Zhang Shuangjin said this and did exactly that.

How to escape poverty in Wenjiashan Village? How to help the villagers become rich as soon as possible? This has always been the problem Zhang Shuangjin most wanted to solve. In order to guide the villagers to develop the economy, in 2001 Zhang Shuangjin actively played the exemplary role of a Party member, responded to national policy, and in accordance with the "strategy of strengthening the township through animal husbandry" of the Dongliang Township Party Committee and township government, actively raised funds and took the lead in developing cattle raising. Once he had the idea, Zhang Shuangjin acted on it. After consulting materials, he went for on-site inspections. From breed selection to management experience, he recorded everything in his notebook one by one. "At the time, I felt that beef cattle breeding still had certain development prospects and could be made bigger and stronger. I also had experience in this area and wanted to test the waters for everyone first." Once the idea was mature, he raised funds everywhere and took the lead in building the "Dongliang Shuangjin Beef Cattle Improved Breed Breeding Farm," beginning his path to prosperity through beef cattle breeding. With tenacity, he grew his cattle business from small to large and from weak to strong, gradually developing large-scale farming. At present, his cattle farm has accumulated an investment of more than 1 million yuan, with an annual inventory of more than 200 head, playing a typical demonstration role for the development of the cattle industry in the whole township and even the whole county.

Since becoming a widely known "cattle man," Zhang Shuangjin's daily life has been spent dealing with cattle. He has to get up early in the morning to care for the cattle in the shed. Feeding, herding - every process must be done carefully and cautiously. He said that raising cattle requires care and attentiveness, and they should be treated like family. To raise cattle well, Zhang Shuangjin knows well that he must rely on science and technology and must practice scientific feeding. In order to master scientific breeding techniques, he always actively participated in various breeding technology training classes held by county and township animal husbandry departments, and also bought a large number of books on scientific cattle raising. After 15 years of study, from feed to beef cattle breeding to sales, Zhang Shuangjin worked out his own set of "cattle-raising scriptures."

Getting rich alone is not getting rich; only when the whole village gets rich is it truly getting rich. As the village's leading goose, Zhang Shuangjin fulfills the promise he made when elected and strives to lead the villagers in seeking prosperity together. Under his leadership, the villagers' enthusiasm for developing planting and breeding industries generally ran high. The village's deputy secretary became a specialized beekeeper, with products sold directly on the Meitao Village e-commerce platform; one household became a large pig farmer, with 180 pigs in stock; one household became a large chicken farmer, and 2 other households also took up beef cattle breeding. Not only that, the prosperity of the breeding industry drove the development of other industries. Some villagers increased their income by being hired to herd cattle, while others turned their eyes to apricot planting for kernels. After the autumn harvest, the straw was used as cattle feed, and cattle manure was supplied to more than 60 households in the village for growing crops... The spark of planting and breeding industries spread like wildfire in Wenjiashan Village, and the villagers' incomes rose accordingly.

Seeing the villagers' days becoming more prosperous and their drive growing, Zhang Shuangjin felt sincerely happy. "Now that the villagers' incomes are higher, their quality of life must keep up too," Zhang Shuangjin said. He led the village Party branch and village committee team to start simultaneously with both software and hardware construction and continuously accelerate the pace of new socialist countryside construction. In 2012, the village invested 630,000 yuan in succession to build a cultural activity square and set up an integrated activity venue including a library, reading room, multimedia room, special culture exhibition room, and billiards room. The colorful rural cultural construction further enriched the villagers' cultural life. In 2013, the village installed 46 street lamps, further improving the villagers' living conditions. In 2014, through communication with the Dongliang Township government and the power supply department, the village Party branch and village committee added a new transformer in the village, solving the whole village's electricity problem. At the same time, the village Party branch actively responded to the call, vigorously improved environmental sanitation, renovated toilets for 300 households, built 2 garbage pools, and established a professional cleaning team, effectively improving the village's appearance and living environment. In 2015, more than 1.1 million yuan was invested to complete a 3.5-kilometer cement-hardened village road project, solving the villagers' travel problem, and great efforts were made to strengthen agricultural infrastructure construction, with 120,000 yuan invested to widen 20 kilometers of field roads. In the same year, the village invested another 40,000 yuan to repair the village's long-neglected and severely damaged tap water pipes, thoroughly solving the villagers' difficulty in getting water.

Zhang Shuangjin led the villagers out of poverty and toward prosperity through practical action, winning the support and endorsement of the people. In this year's "Two Studies, One Action" learning and education, Zhang Shuangjin led the village Party branch and village committee team to conscientiously study the Party Constitution and Party rules and study the series of speeches, and formulated measures for young Party members to take responsibility for veteran Party members and educated Party members to take responsibility for illiterate Party members. They carefully planned ideas for the whole village to escape poverty and become rich, and the Party branch's cohesion, creativity, and combat effectiveness were further enhanced. Speaking of this, Zhang Shuangjin said: "I hope that through learning and education, everyone can be twisted into one rope and work toward the same goal, truly building Wenjiashan Village into a civilized village that escapes poverty, becomes rich, and strives for a moderately prosperous life."
