Inner Mongolia: Logging halted but production continues, black gold economy drives workers to prosperity together
Right now, at the edible fungus cultivation base of the Gandong Management and Protection Station under the Ganhe Forestry Bureau in Inner Mongolia, workers are busy harvesting and drying black fungus.
It is understood that since the comprehensive halt on commercial logging of natural forests, the leadership of this management and protection station has actively mobilized and encouraged workers to develop new projects to enrich the people. Xiao Meng, deputy director of the Gandong Management and Protection Station, visited the black fungus cultivation base of the Keyihe Forestry Bureau for inspection, and then began his entrepreneurial path in black fungus cultivation. At present, the more than 60,000 bags of edible fungi he painstakingly cultivated are about to yield a bumper harvest, and his heart is as sweet as if smeared with honey.
Xiao Meng's use of the "fungus economy" to lead workers in entrepreneurship and prosperity deeply influenced Wu Junfu, former captain of the production team at the management and protection station. After repeated experiments, Wu Junfu used the bagged ground-placement method to produce high-quality fungus, which sold at a good price. After extensive investigation and study, the Party and administrative leadership of this management and protection station provided him free of charge with more than 2,000 sq m of office area, abandoned work-section housing, and more than 10 mu of land to support his development of black fungus cultivation, hoping that by supporting large edible fungus cultivation households they could lead the workers of the management and protection station to prosperity together and achieve the goal of generating gold in every "bag."
