Dakeng Leisure Farm is located at the border between Niaoshulin, Tuqi Village, Longqi District, Tainan City, and Dakengli, Xinhua District. Surrounded by mountains, it not only offers distant views of the Central Mountain Range and Dagang Mountain, but is also a great place to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds. It is a fairly well-known tourist spot in the area.
The owners started out in agricultural and livestock production, and expanded step by step from a chicken farm and restaurant to a homestay. Today it has grown considerably in scale, and is also the only leisure farm in Taiwan, China with mountain spring SPA facilities. It covers 6.2 hectares and is planted with large numbers of flowers, grass and trees. It also regularly displays old farm implements such as ox carts and bamboo fences, and has a cute animal ecology area where you can see hens leading chicks, miniature pigs, peacocks and white pigeons strolling around, full of rustic farm charm. In addition, there are hiking trails, a viewing tower, forest resort steam bath log cabins, the Iluba Boathouse Restaurant and other facilities; the physical training ground set up according to the mountain terrain is also equipped with rope suspension bridges, single-rope mountain crossings and a high-altitude slide, making it suitable for all ages and very appealing to vacationing guests of every age group.
Another feature of the farm is the delicious cuisine prepared jointly by the hostess and her second daughter. In addition to emphasizing being non-toxic, organic, healthy and nourishing, after adding the creativity of the younger generation, every dish reveals ingenuity unrestrained by traditional cooking methods. The farm's distinctive charcoal-roasted mountain chicken and miniature pig offer a meaty, fragrant and delicious dining experience that gives people who have lived in the city for a long time a different feeling.
At present, the farm is run with the combined efforts of three generations of the owner's family: grandfather and grandmother raise chickens and grow vegetables, father and mother handle business operations, the eldest daughter is responsible for marketing and public relations, the second daughter is responsible for cooking, and the third daughter is responsible for reception. Each has their own duties and they work together for the farm. With the younger generation joining in, the farm has also launched a bath series using self-grown herbs as raw materials, and is gradually moving toward the international tourism market, attracting many foreign travelers to come and experience the rural life and customs of Taiwan, China.
