A 100-mu ecological orchard earns 500,000 yuan a year

Zhang Rongbao, of the Jinwu Villager Group in Mingsheng Village, Hefei City, Anhui Province, leased 100 mu of high-bench land in the spring of 2012 with convenient transport, a superior natural environment and far from the city, to build an ecological orchard. He introduced and planted the new variety Jinxiu yellow peach, applied farmyard manure, raised chickens and geese under the trees, used no herbicides, and controlled pests and diseases by physical methods plus microorganisms. After four years of careful cultivation, plump, sweet, attractively colored and richly fragrant peaches came onto the market, drawing a steady stream of pickers. This year's income is expected to reach 500,000 yuan.
