Hemp must absolutely not be planted; growers must be on high alert

In order to further consolidate the results of our county's work on banning planting and eradicating drugs, and to ensure the achievement of the "zero production" goal for the illegal drug crop cannabis, our county has comprehensively advanced the work of banning planting, eradicating drugs, and preventive publicity village by village, leaving no dead corners. From August 8 to 11, the county anti-drug office continued to organize staff from the county agriculture and animal husbandry bureau and the public security bureau, township deputy secretaries in charge of anti-drug work, full-time anti-drug personnel, anti-drug volunteer workers, and anti-drug volunteers, and went deep into 9 townships and 36 village groups including Malian and Pingfeng to comprehensively carry out inspection and eradication activities.

The anti-drug planting ban and eradication work team not only carried out inspection work village by village and household by household, but also distributed anti-drug publicity materials and publicized drug-related knowledge such as the harms of illegally planting drug source plants, so that the broad masses understood the harmful nature of illegally planting cannabis plants, thereby achieving the effect of eradicating one household and educating a whole area, raising the masses' awareness of voluntarily banning the planting of drug source plants, and making the laws and regulations on banning planting and eradicating drugs known to every household and deeply rooted in people's hearts.

During this inspection activity, the team successively went deep into 36 villages in 9 townships including Xingping, Pingfeng, Xiaohe, and Malian in our county, and found more than 10 households with scattered planting or naturally growing suspected cannabis source plants in their crop fields and vegetable gardens, totaling more than 4,000 plants, which were eradicated and destroyed on the spot, and 1 public security case was filed at the same time. The farming households were all able to recognize the mistake of illegally planting cannabis and actively cooperated with the staff on the spot to eradicate it.

At present, our county's inspection work for banning planting and eradicating drugs is still continuing, ensuring that the work of banning planting and eradicating drugs is carried through to the end.
