This unremarkable food from rural areas is exported abroad. Have you ever tried it?
Rural areas, in many people's impressions, are backward and struggling.
But nothing is absolute. Take this village we are about to mention, for example. It is already on the road to prosperity and never looking back.
In this village called Gaocun, the villagers actually earn nearly over 100,000 per person each year.
Just how does this village achieve such a high per capita income?
Come and take a look.

The food the woman in the picture above is making is the magic weapon that has helped Gaocun villagers get rich: mung bean sheet jelly.
In Gaocun, more than half the people make this food.
However, this money is not that easy to earn. Making mung bean sheet jelly is not as simple as we imagine. On the contrary, its production is very tedious.
First of all, the villagers have to prepare more than a dozen large vats. For the farmers, this is also a considerable investment.
Furthermore, the villagers have to soak the mung beans for a full 12 hours.
Then they have to get up early every day, crush the mung beans, add water to the crushed mung beans, and use a machine to separate the mung bean slurry from the residue.
The second step is filtering and fermentation.
The main purpose of this step is to filter the mung bean residue clean, leaving the mung bean slurry to ferment.
Fermentation takes less time in summer, but in winter it takes almost a whole day.
After fermentation, the bean starch at the very bottom is what is truly needed to make mung bean sheet jelly.
The third step is making the sheet jelly.
The villagers first have to prepare boiling water, then place a specially made basin on the water.
This basin is the key to making the sheet jelly.
The villagers stir the mung bean starch made the previous day evenly with water, pour it into this basin, and after a few dozen seconds a delicious sheet jelly is born.
It seems that delicious food truly requires careful preparation and patient waiting.
After years of hard work, after entering the new century, Gaosheng Village's mung bean sheet jelly began to be exported overseas. Many Chinese and overseas Chinese living abroad order large quantities of mung bean sheet jelly during festivals and holidays. The villagers of Gaosheng Village are also living better and better lives, and every family has built a new house.
Our country has more than 800 million farmers and tens of thousands of villages. More and more of them, like the villagers of Gaosheng Village, have embarked on the road to moderate prosperity by using their village's unique handicrafts or foods. No matter what everyone is doing now, you must dare to act, dare to dream, and dare to persist. Because even a simple, unremarkable home-style food like this, the villagers of Gaosheng Village were able to export overseas.
