Wild mountain fruit in the rural mountains: kiwifruit is almost ripe
Autumn has just begun, and some wild fruits in the mountains are one after another approaching maturity. In the last episode, I just made "August melon is really about to ripen"
This episode is about wild kiwifruit!
Kiwifruit is known as the "king of fruits," mainly because kiwifruit is rich in vitamin C!

Here in Enshi, Hubei, there are a large number of wild kiwifruits on the mountains!
Wild kiwifruit is generally much smaller than the ones in supermarkets
The taste is also a bit more sour!
But after it is fully ripe, the flesh appears dark green!
Generally, in my hometown, kiwifruit can already be picked by around the end of the seventh lunar month!
Wild kiwifruit is not left until it is fully ripe before being picked
Fully ripe kiwifruit will be carried off by birds in the mountains!
The picked kiwifruit is placed in a wooden vat
Generally, after picked kiwifruit is kept at home for about a week
It will slowly become ripe
Pick out the kiwifruit that has softened inside and eat it
Some people, in order to store kiwifruit longer
Choose to dig a hole and spread a layer of fine sand and leaves!
Layer upon layer stacked up like this
This way it will be preserved longer
I heard this method is based on wild birds carrying off kiwifruit and storing some in hidden places
The next year, when burning "fire fertilizer," sometimes fully preserved kiwifruit is still found
And it is preserved very well, and the taste has not changed!
That is why this storage method was invented!
