During the interview, the reporter learned that Zheng Denglian graduated from Sichuan Vocational and Technical College in 2006 with a major in English education. After graduation, she found a job as a social work volunteer in the city. After several years of tempering through volunteer work, she gradually developed the idea of working in rural areas. In 2011, she passed the exam to become a college-graduate village official and was assigned to work in Renli Town, serving as a college-graduate village official in Songlin Village. Due to her outstanding performance, she was rated as an "Outstanding College-Graduate Village Official" by the Organization Department of the Chuanshan District Party Committee for two consecutive years in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, due to her excellent performance, she was again rated as an "Outstanding College-Graduate Village Official" by the Organization Department of the Suining Municipal Party Committee. She treats the "village official" position as a platform to display her talents, and regards changing the economically backward and impoverished situation as an bounden duty.
On one occasional occasion, Zheng Denglian saw a fig tree in a friend's yard. She heard from her friend that this fruit has high nutritional value and meets the dietary needs of modern people. Attracted by the fig tree, Zheng Denglian made up her mind to plant figs and develop specialty planting. Without delay, in early 2013, Zheng Denglian registered the Jincaiyuan Planting Agricultural Cooperative and chose to rent 80 mu of land in the most remote Wolong'an Village to plant figs and pickled mustard tuber.
At the beginning of her business, due to her lack of experience and being busy with village work, the weeds in the field nearly swallowed the fruit trees, and there was not much fruit in the first year. After that, Zheng Denglian began to learn planting techniques, invited forestry experts for guidance, and also sought advice from experienced farmers, slowly exploring experience. In the second year, her figs grew gratifyingly, showing the people around her the joyful results brought by this college graduate's persistence and diligence. As a result, more villagers followed her in planting figs.
In July this year, the figs of Jincaiyuan Planting Agricultural Cooperative began to ripen, and Zheng Denglian was also prepared. She had long started publicity and sales through WeChat business channels and e-commerce platforms.
