The entrepreneurial story of He Hua founding the "Leisure Horse" bicycle brand
He Hua, male, graduated from Huaihua University. Starting in September 2013, he served as assistant to the Party branch secretary of Shaonan Village, Shaoshan City, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, and as a college-graduate village official. Shaonan Village is located to the southwest of Shaoshan City, within Qingxi Town, adjacent to the Shaoshan Industrial Park and Shaoshan South High-Speed Railway Station, about 6.5km from the city center. It lies in a hilly area with lush surface vegetation, and currently has more than 3,000 villagers.
Because the South High-Speed Railway Station and the Shaoshan High-Tech Development Zone have requisitioned a fairly large amount of land from Shaonan Village, there are many landless farmers, and there are currently two collective resettlement areas for villagers. The construction and opening of Shaoshan South High-Speed Railway Station have noticeably raised the income of Shaonan Village villagers. The Shaoshan High-Tech Development Zone has also solved the employment problem for some Shaonan villagers. At present, villagers' economic income is still mainly based on farming and working away from home, and the village has no major collective economic projects for the time being.
In order to start a business and bring prosperity to the villagers, in November 2014, He Hua founded Shaoshan Leisure Horse Bicycle Development Co., Ltd., with registered capital of 2 million yuan. The company is currently located in the Shaoshan High-Tech Development Zone and is dedicated to the production and research and development of sightseeing vehicles. At present, the company has more than 30 employees, a factory building area of 3,000 sq m, divided into a material cutting workshop, welding workshop, painting workshop, assembly workshop and warehouse. Its “Leisure Horse” brand four-wheeled bicycles sell well in major scenic areas across the country and are exported to Malaysia, the Maldives, Singapore and other countries. It is expected to produce 5,000 “Leisure Horse” four-wheeled bicycles this year, with output value exceeding 15 million yuan.
In 2015, He Hua received the title of “One of the Top Ten Youth Makers in Xiangtan Most Liked by Netizens,” and the company he founded received an unpaid funding project from the 2015 Hunan Province College Student Entrepreneurship Fund. In 2016, the company was awarded the College-Graduate Village Official Entrepreneurship Demonstration Base by the Organization Department of the Shaoshan Municipal Party Committee and the Communist Youth League.
