Nano smart labels launched; food and drug cold chain can be monitored in real time
Report from our newspaper (reporter Miao Yi): Recently, at the 2016 China Aseptic Packaging Industry Development Forum, Yan Chunhua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at Peking University, released this "smart label."
It is understood that the "smart label," attached to the outer packaging of goods, reflects in real time and intuitively the external temperature and storage and transport time of the product through a color change from green to red, thereby showing whether the product is fresh or spoiled during logistics and sales. The "smart label" technology was jointly invented by the State Key Laboratory of Rare Earth Materials Chemistry and Applications at Peking University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and has been granted a national invention patent authorization. It has the advantages of low cost, wide application, safety, and non-destructive monitoring of product quality.
Li Wei, executive vice president of Lanthanum Color Technology Co., Ltd., a company in which Peking University holds shares, believes that the market application of "smart labels" will provide good and reliable service and protection throughout the entire process for producers, logistics providers, sellers, and consumers, and will safeguard product quality. Wang Yuezhong, vice president and secretary-general of the China Packaging Federation, also stated at the same time that strengthening scientific and technological research and development and using high-tech to achieve intelligent packaging is an important means of promoting the technological upgrading of China's packaging industry.
