Major changes are coming to the livestock farming industry, and farmers need to pay close attention
With the development of agriculture, more and more people are engaged in livestock farming, and the state is paying increasing attention to the industry. At the same time, land for large-scale farming has gradually become a development bottleneck. Regarding farming land, different regions have different support policies, but in general, applying for a large-scale livestock and poultry farm requires 4 points. Moreover, in the next 3 years, farming policies and market opportunities will be unprecedentedly huge.
With the development of agriculture, more and more people are engaged in livestock farming, and the state is paying increasing attention to the industry. Many people have begun to take up large-scale farming, specialty farming and so on, but they have encountered various problems in the course of operation.
A few days ago, a friend called us to ask about farming, saying that he wanted to go into large-scale farming, but was unsure about how to apply for farming land and what farming project to choose. With the continuous advancement of modern agriculture, land for large-scale farming has gradually become a development bottleneck. Regarding farming land, different regions have different support policies, but in general, applying for land for a large-scale livestock and poultry farm should meet the following conditions:
1. The application for new construction or expansion must be made after January 1, 2008.
2. Closed management shall be implemented, with separation of people and livestock, centralized raising, and a year-round inventory of more than 300 pigs, more than 100 beef cattle, or more than 10,000 poultry.
3. Site selection and design shall be reasonable, supporting facilities (including environmental facilities) complete, epidemic prevention strict, and management standardized, with specialized, large-scale, standardized and ecological production achieved.
4. Enterprises or individuals setting up livestock and poultry farming must apply to the livestock and poultry management department for the approval document for a large-scale farm.
Farming land is only one aspect of livestock farming. In the past two years, the state's policy support for the industry has been considerable. From the experience of modern agriculture in Western developed countries, we can see that modern animal husbandry has developed very rapidly. In particular, China is in a period of agricultural transformation: on the one hand, it must ensure the stable development of large-scale planting; on the other hand, it must use greater efforts to drive the rapid improvement of ecological farming. Therefore, in the next 3 years, farming policies and market opportunities will be unprecedentedly huge. Overall, there are the following major opportunities:
Opportunity 1: Standardized large-scale farming
Large-scale agriculture is not only the number one important content of the No. 1 document, but also the main direction of China's future agricultural transformation. For the crop and livestock farming sectors of agriculture, scaling up is undoubtedly the only way for China to achieve modern agricultural development, and the state will further increase support for large-scale farming.
Benefit ①: Huge subsidies for large-scale farming (in addition to subsidies for improved livestock breeds, subsidies for large-scale farming can also be obtained; in addition, there are some special policies, such as a separate reward policy for major pig-farming counties.)
Benefit ②: Standardized demonstration farming can also obtain policy support funds (for standardized demonstration farming bases that drive local farmers' development, different regions have different support policies.)
Opportunity 2: Ecological farming
At present, livestock and poultry farming pollution has become an important source of agricultural non-point source pollution, and solving the problem of comprehensive utilization of manure is urgent. Therefore, taking into account the two major goals of production and ecology, ecological farming that combines farming and animal husbandry and pursues circular development as a way to solve the difficult problem of livestock and poultry farming pollution will become a key development target.
Benefit ①: Huge subsidies for ecological farming (the state is paying more and more attention to environmental issues and gives great support to sustainable, recyclable ecological agriculture, with support for ecological farming being especially huge.)
Benefit ②: Preferential policies on land, water and electricity use (in addition to direct subsidies, varying degrees of preferential policies from the state on land, water and electricity for livestock farming can also be enjoyed, so as to save input costs.)
Opportunity 3: Specialty farming
It should be noted that specialty farming refers to farming that forms a certain scale cluster locally and becomes a regional specialty. The state encourages all regions to develop regional specialty agricultural projects according to their regional advantages.
Benefit ①: The “one county, one specialty” subsidy project. (For farming projects that have formed scale and specialty, applications can be made for the “one county, one specialty” industrial development pilot project.)
Benefit ②: Build a brand with specialty features and raise product added value. (Build an advantageous specialty brand on the basis of specialty features, greatly increase product added value, and raise sales profits.)
Opportunity 4: Policy-based insurance will continue to increase
Because risks in the farming industry are hard to predict, and in addition to natural disasters, environmental pollution leads to serious diseases and increases the mortality rate of livestock and poultry from disease, the risks of farming are very high. To prevent risks and ensure the healthy and safe development of the farming industry, the state will increase investment in agricultural insurance. Some aquaculture insurance and other types will be included in the scope of policy-based agricultural insurance.
