More positive factors for pig prices in September than in August

Compared with August, positive factors for pig prices increased in September

On the supply side, pig supply in September remained relatively stable; this month's pig supply may be flat with August, and a clear increase will be difficult to achieve. September weather is favorable for pig growth, and coupled with holding back slaughter and increased supply in the second half of the year, pig slaughter volume rose slightly month-on-month. However, the disasters and epidemics in July and the reduced slaughter in August cut into some supply. Moreover, the overall supply fundamentals are tight, so the support from the supply side remains relatively strong.

On the demand side, meat consumption in September is naturally higher than in August. Favorable weather, demand support from the start of the school term, the boost from the two festivals, and slaughterhouses' stocking demand all support the rise in pig prices.

Overall, the supply-demand trend is better than in August; September pig prices will not be worse than August even in the worst case, and moreover September pig prices are inherently on an upward objective trend. Therefore, farmers only need to maintain a normal slaughter rhythm and sell on rallies, while preparing for a slight pullback in pig prices after the holiday.
