The farming industry will undergo major changes

With the development of agriculture, more and more people are going into farming, and the state pays ever greater attention to the farming industry. Quite a few people have started large-scale farming operations, specialty farming and the like, but they run into various problems in the course of doing business.

A few days ago, a friend called us to ask about farming, saying he wanted to run a large-scale farming operation but did not know how to apply for farming land or what farming project to choose. As modern agriculture keeps advancing, land for large-scale farming has gradually become a bottleneck to development. Different regions have different support policies for farming land, but in general, applying for land for a large-scale livestock and poultry farm should meet the following conditions:

1. The application must be for a new build or expansion submitted after January 1, 2008.

2. Closed management, separation of people and animals, and centralized rearing are practiced, with a year-round inventory of more than 300 pigs, more than 100 beef cattle, or more than 10,000 poultry.

3. The site selection and design are reasonable, the supporting facilities (including environmental facilities) are complete, epidemic prevention is strict, management is standardized, and production is specialized, large-scale, standardized and ecological.

4. Enterprises or individuals setting up livestock and poultry farming must apply to the livestock and poultry management department for the approval document for a large-scale farm.

Farming land is only one aspect of going into farming, and in the past two years the state's policy support for the farming industry has been considerable. The experience of getting rich through modern agriculture in Western developed countries shows that modern livestock farming develops very rapidly. China in particular is in a period of agricultural transition: on the one hand, the stable development of large-scale planting must be ensured; on the other hand, greater effort must be used to drive the rapid upgrading of ecological farming. Therefore, in the next 3 years, farming policies and market opportunities will be unprecedentedly huge. Overall, there are the following major opportunities:

Opportunity 1: Standardized large-scale farming

Large-scale agriculture is not only the number one priority in Document No. 1 but also the main direction of China's future agricultural transformation. For the planting and farming side of agriculture, scaling up is undoubtedly the only path for China to achieve modern agricultural development, and the state will further increase its support for large-scale farming.

Benefit ①: Huge subsidies for large-scale farming (in addition to livestock improved-breed subsidies, you can also get large-scale farming subsidies; in addition, there are special policies, such as a separate reward policy for major pig-farming counties.)

Benefit ②: Standardized demonstration farming can also get policy support funds (for standardized demonstration farming bases that drive local farmers' development, each region has different support policies.)

Opportunity 2: Ecological farming

At present, livestock and poultry farming pollution has become an important source of agricultural non-point source pollution, and solving the problem of comprehensive manure utilization is urgent. Therefore, taking into account both the production and ecological goals, ecological farming that combines crop and livestock production and follows a circular development model, as a way to solve the tough problem of livestock and poultry farming pollution, will become a key development target.

Benefit ①: Huge subsidies for ecological farming (the state pays more and more attention to environmental issues and gives strong support to sustainable, circular ecological agriculture, with especially huge support for ecological farming.)

Benefit ②: Preferential policies on land, water and electricity use (in addition to direct subsidies, you can also enjoy state preferential policies of varying degrees for livestock farming in terms of land, water and electricity use, to save input costs.)

Opportunity 3: Specialty farming

It should be noted that specialty farming refers to farming that has formed a certain scale cluster locally and become a regional specialty. The state encourages each region to develop regional specialty agricultural projects based on its own advantages.

Benefit ①: "One county, one specialty" subsidy projects. (For farming projects that have formed scale and specialty, you can apply for the "one county, one specialty" industrial development pilot project.)

Benefit ②: Build a brand on the specialty and raise the added value of the product. (On the basis of the specialty, create an advantageous specialty brand, greatly raise the added value of the product and increase sales profit.)

Opportunity 4: Policy-based insurance will continue to expand

Because risks in the farming industry are hard to predict, and apart from natural disasters, environmental pollution causes severe disease, increasing the mortality rate of livestock and poultry, the farming industry carries very high risks. To guard against risks and ensure the healthy and safe development of the farming industry, the state will increase investment in agricultural insurance. Some aquaculture insurance and the like will be included in the scope of policy-based agricultural insurance.
