Corn is worthless but land is valuable, leaving farmers in an awkward position

The awkward position of farmers: land is valuable but corn is worthless!

Recently I saw the latest news that new corn in Hubei has already hit the market, and one jin really only sells for five or six mao. Corn prices have once again fallen to rock bottom, which has made many farmers who were still harboring a sliver of hope cry once again!

Although corn prices have caused a huge uproar this year, on the one hand, farmers have already prepared their seeds and fertilizer, so they can only continue planting corn. On the other hand, aside from planting corn, farmers have nothing else they can plant, and they cannot bear to let the land lie fallow, so they can only plant corn again!

New corn has already appeared sporadically on the market in Hubei and other places. Although the corn now on the market is not yet very plentiful, freshly harvested corn has relatively high moisture content. High-moisture corn at 18-30 sells for between 0.55-0.6 yuan per jin, which means it takes more than ten jin of corn to trade for one jin of pork!

When large quantities of corn hit the market in autumn, will prices rise? The answer is definitely no. If even small batches of corn now cannot fetch a price, then when large quantities of corn hit the market, why on earth would it sell for a high price? Besides, the state granaries still hold a great deal of old corn that urgently needs to be digested and dealt with!

Rural household registration is appreciating in value, rural land is appreciating in value, rural houses are appreciating in value. Rural household registration has unique advantages, and farmers can be allocated land of their own. This is what makes farmers happiest, but the awkward part is that grain is depreciating. Wheat is worthless, corn is worthless, rice is worthless, apples are worthless. For many agricultural products, farmers exchange their sweat for a harvest, but in the end it is the tragedy of a bumper harvest without a bumper income!

For example, tomatoes now flooding the market in Yunnan sell for 6 mao per kilogram, yet are still severely unsold. Of a million jin of tomatoes in Helan, not even one mao can attract a buyer. Tomatoes in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, are unsold, and tens of millions of jin may rot in the fields. Yet the cultivation cost of one jin of tomatoes can reach around one yuan, and farmers cannot even recover their costs!

Land is valuable and precious, but the question is how to bring wealth to farmers? How can a few mu of land let farmers live without worry? Land that cannot bring wealth, even if one mu is worth millions, is still just quenchless thirst for farmers! It cannot solve their real difficulties!

The greatest meaning of land to farmers is to grow crops and sell them for money, but no matter what farmers plant, they can only barely make ends meet, and they must also endure the challenges of all kinds of harsh weather. After toiling for a year farming, it is still more worthwhile to rent it out directly to someone for a few hundred yuan! If farmers have no motivation to farm, then no matter how good the fertile fields are, they will be left to go wild!

Land is valuable, grain is worthless! This is the biggest awkward position farmers currently face!
