"Third-generation farmer" becomes "internet generation"

Shierdaowan Village is located 10 kilometers east of the Shierdaogou Township Government in Changbai County, Jilin Province. Although fiber-optic broadband reaches households, logistics pickup and delivery must go to the township 10 kilometers away, so previously villagers were rarely seen using mobile internet and almost no one shopped online. This situation did not change until the "third-generation farmers" returned home. The children from the village who had gone away to university came back, and because they are the third generation of farmers to leave the countryside since reform and opening up, they are called "third-generation farmers."

The "third-generation farmers" first taught their own parents to shop, so the village committee director bought a blood glucose meter and a massage pillow for his elderly father online for the first time, showing the whole village the appeal of online shopping. After that, one led another, and the villagers gradually learned to shop online. The village committee director's family had a minivan, and with one trip the minivan brought back from the township everything the villagers had bought, making logistics pickup and delivery convenient. Thanks to the "third-generation farmers," the village suddenly became a "Taobao village." But once the initial enthusiasm for online shopping faded, the villagers quieted down again; after all, there isn't that much to buy in a rural village.

Shierdaowan Village actively sought support funds from higher levels and invested 740,000 yuan to complete the infrastructure and production line construction of Hongfeng Liquor Industry, processing 25,000 kg of grain per year and producing 15,000 kg of pure grain baijiu, becoming the main driver of increased village collective economic income. Once, a "third-generation farmer" casually took a photo of the pure grain baijiu being produced and the distillery and posted it on WeChat Moments, and also took photos of the mountains and rivers along the Yalu River in front of and behind the houses. Immediately someone on WeChat inquired, and the "third-generation farmer" casually quoted a price, and as it turned out, some tourists visiting Changbai Mountain really came to buy. In no time, more than 50 kg of pure grain baijiu was sold, and the account gained more than 1,000 yuan. Only then did the villagers discover that things could also be sold on a mobile phone, and their interest was instantly stirred up. They enthusiastically posted their own agricultural products online, and the Taobao village became a WeChat shop village. As a result, more "third-generation farmers" became the "internet generation."

Adapting to the new situation, and with the support of the township Party committee and township government, Shierdaowan Village opened an e-commerce platform, and the village committee separately set up an e-commerce service window to provide local villagers with online purchasing agency services and sales services for various products. The business items of the online store continued to increase, with more than ten kinds of local specialty agricultural products from Shierdaowan Village uploaded, greatly promoting the development of e-commerce enterprises and farmers' cooperatives. Farming households sold specialty agricultural products through the e-commerce trading platform, opening a bright road to lead the whole village to prosperity.
