Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang: Local deep processing of corn

In recent years, Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province, has taken project construction as its driving force, turned its corn resource advantage into an economic advantage, extended the industrial chain, and deeply developed "primary products," bringing corn deep processing to a new level.

Zhaodong City guides and supports agricultural product processing enterprises in extending their industrial development reach, going to the countryside and into the fields to connect with farmers, and using their capital, technological strength and market advantages to drive the coordinated development of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries. At the same time, the government actively acts as a "matchmaker," focusing on the corn industrial chain, livestock and poultry processing industrial chain, dairy and beverage industrial chain and feed industrial chain led by 42 agricultural industrialization enterprises, adopting an "order-based production mechanism" and targeted matchmaking approach, and developing models such as "enterprise + farm + farmer."

At the same time, focusing on value-added conversion through livestock, the integration of planting and breeding, and ecological circular development, it promotes feed enterprises and the breeding industry in expanding the volume of breeding conversion and promotes the nearby processing and conversion of corn. Heilongjiang Longxin Ruiyi Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd., which has been settled in the Green Food Park for nearly 3 years, focuses on steam-flaked corn processing, and the processed products are widely used in breeding.

At present, the corn industrial chain in Zhaodong City has begun to take shape. Eight leading enterprises, including COFCO Biochemical, Star Lake Bioscience and Chengfu Group, are linked to a base area of nearly 600,000 mu, with an annual processing and conversion volume of 1.929 million tons of corn, accounting for 90% of total corn output.
