"I've already hatched squabs from the meat pigeons I'm raising. At this rate of breeding, I'll recoup my investment ahead of schedule!" Standing beside the pigeon house, Xu Guocheng said happily. Last year, after more than 20 years in business away from home, Xu Guocheng answered the call from the Dongliao County Party Committee and County Government to return home and start a business. Full of enthusiasm, he came back to Dezhi Village, Quantai Town, Dongliao County, and began his entrepreneurial journey in meat pigeon farming. Self-raised funds of 2 million yuan, 23800 sq m of barren hillside land, 5 standardized pigeon houses, 5000 pairs of breeding pigeons, and 8 breeding workers - these figures were the starting point for Xu Guocheng and his Yilongxuan Breeding Professional Cooperative.

Xu Guocheng began carrying out his plan to return home and start a business in 2012. That year, he decided to bring meat pigeons back to his hometown and begin his entrepreneurial journey.

The process of entrepreneurial development is always arduous. From choosing the site of the breeding base to planning and building the grounds, and then to raising the meat pigeons, Xu Guocheng poured all his effort into it, so to speak. Up to now, the Yilongxuan Breeding Professional Cooperative has completed a cumulative investment of more than 7 million yuan, has 5 member households, and the 5000 pairs of American King Pigeons introduced have now bred to 10000 pairs. The land for construction has been leveled, and 10 more standardized pigeon houses are under construction. In Xu Guocheng's words, the date of seeing returns is just around the corner.

"I've been drifting away from home for more than 20 years, and I've long wanted to come back and do something for my hometown." Through our conversation, we deeply felt Xu Guocheng's sincerity in "doing something for his hometown" and his determination and confidence in starting a business. This spring, during the re-election of the two committees, Xu Guocheng was elected village director of Dezhi Village, and the burden on his shoulders grew heavier. But regarding future development, this dark, sturdy man appeared even more confident. 50 cooperative member households, the largest meat pigeon breeding base in Northeast China, meat pigeon manure fed to meat pigs, meat pig manure spread into fish ponds, a sustainable multi-tiered breeding industry, a fruit-picking garden, a retirement mountain resort... an expected investment of 50 million yuan. Xu Guocheng is full of confidence in his enterprise.
