Sun Ping, 34 years old this year, is a villager of Sunzhuang Village, Matou Town, Xiayi County, Henan Province, and is deeply fond of growing fruit trees and nursery stock. In 2009, against her family's objections, she quit her job in the design department of an automobile company and successively transferred more than 500 mu of land in her hometown to grow rare vegetables, melons, fruits and crop varieties such as kiwifruit, early-maturing walnuts and Baoguan radishes. In order to learn agricultural science and technology, Sun Ping took part in professional training at the county agricultural broadcasting and television school, becoming a new-type professional farmer and local scientific and technological talent, and completing her transformation from corporate designer to professional farmer.
