Shandong implements provincial-level agricultural science and technology innovation project

Led by the Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the “Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Project,” organized and implemented since 2016, clearly designated 2016 to 2017 as the pilot exploration period, 2018 to 2020 as the adjustment and advancement period, and the period after 2021 as the period of sustained and stable support. During the pilot exploration period, the provincial finance project funding budget indicator was 60 million yuan per year.

Shandong made it clear that through implementing the “Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Project,” it strives to achieve three major goals. Achieve a number of major scientific and technological achievements with independent intellectual property rights, driving the contribution rate of agricultural scientific and technological progress to reach 65% by the end of the “13th Five-Year Plan”; solve a number of key common problems constraining industrial development and farmers' income growth, ensuring that farmers' income maintains a double-digit annual growth rate; establish a number of agricultural science and technology demonstration models, accelerate the transformation of achievements, promote Shandong agriculture to continue leading the country, and complete the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects two years ahead of schedule.
