Trial operation of the invalid resident identity card information system begins

In response to problems such as the difficulty bank staff face in determining whether an identity card is invalid when verifying the consistency of the person and the card, and the ease with which lost or stolen identity cards can be fraudulently used, Huang Ming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Public Security, said on the 6th that the Ministry of Public Security has completed the invalid resident identity card information system and launched it for trial operation recently. After a pilot program at banks, it will be provided to all social departments that verify identity cards, and networked verification will be carried out with the existing citizen identity information system.

According to the introduction, the invalid resident identity card information system has the functions of real-time data updating and dynamic maintenance. Through networked verification by all social departments and units that verify identity cards, all lost and stolen resident identity cards can be invalidated immediately.

Huang Ming said that in creating a safe and standardized environment for the use of resident identity cards, the social departments and units that verify identity cards are a key link. The Ministry of Public Security will further deepen the linkage mechanism with all social departments that verify identity cards, establish a blacklist system for people who fraudulently use identity cards, intensify the prevention and crackdown of the illegal and criminal act of fraudulent use, improve accountability for card-verifying units that fail to fulfill their responsibility to verify the consistency of the person and the card, and strengthen the protection of citizens' personal information security.
