Ma Wanwu, 48 years old this year, is a widely known cattle farmer in Yuanzhou District, Guyuan City, Ningxia. The Fuyuan Beef Cattle Breeding Cooperative in Touying Town, Yuanzhou District, which he organized and established, helps villagers buy and sell cattle, teaches breeding techniques, and provides free services, leading villagers to follow the "cattle-farming guide" and earn "cattle-farming money," finding an industrial path to prosperity. In 2007, Ma Wanwu took the lead in joining with 5 households to establish the cooperative in Shiyang Village, Touying Town. At that time they had only 15 cattle, and the average annual income per household was about 4000 yuan. After nearly 10 years of development, as of now the Fuyuan Beef Cattle Breeding Cooperative has 350 member households, with more than 3600 head of various types of beef cattle on hand, and the average annual income per household is nearly 70,000 yuan. November is exactly the busy period when Ma Wanwu stores forage for the winter and spring seasons, and almost the whole village is busy using vehicles to haul grass from the fields and process corn stalks into forage. Half a month ago, Ma Wanwu also traveled all the way to Australia to inspect and study foreign beef cattle breeding models, and in New Zealand he ordered more than 4500 Black Angus cattle for the whole cooperative, which are expected to arrive in January next year.
