Laid-off female worker returns home to found a cooperative and lead farmers to prosperity

From being a laid-off worker to resolutely returning home to start a business; from founding a single farm to expanding it into a specialized breeding cooperative, and moving into the Ling Shan County Sanke Agricultural Trade City E-commerce Entrepreneurship Park, carrying out online and offline sales. Using the "cooperative + farmers" model to drive farmers to engage in under-forest ecological circular breeding, achieving the goal of a virtuous cycle between internet e-commerce and farm-stay culture. She is Huang Huali from Lingcheng Town, Lingshan County.

Cheerful and straightforward by nature, she acts as soon as she decides. "Food is the first necessity of the people. In recent years, I have always paid attention to the issue of food safety. I thought, why can't I myself make some green and healthy food from the source?" On November 1, Huang Huali, sitting in front of the reporter, was confident and cheerful, talking freely about her experience of returning home to start a business. "So, in December last year, I came back to Lingshan from elsewhere and began investing in the founding of Ye Ge Farm."

Before 2014, Huang Huali had been working in various places across Guangxi, selling veterinary drugs, running a beauty salon, and doing quite a few industries. After returning home, in order to found the farm, Huang Huali looked for a site, handled permits, and hired workers; after founding the farm, she fed chickens and ducks and carried manure, doing everything herself. In less than a year, she felt deeply: "If you want to be a hands-off boss, then don't think about starting a business."

Because she had frontline breeding technology, in March this year, Huang Huali expanded the farm into the Lingshan County Hualiuchun Yuan Livestock and Poultry Breeding Cooperative, breaking traditional planting and breeding concepts and implementing an "under-forest on-site ecological circular planting and breeding" model, improving the environment, lowering costs, and raising the quality of organic products. In just a few months, the cooperative developed more than 60 member households, with about more than 1,000 mu of land transferred, radiating to 15 natural villages in 8 surrounding townships. Ecological planting and breeding model creates pollution-free agricultural products

At present, the cooperative has 600 mu of lychee and longan orchards, 20 mu of nursery land, 400 mu of citrus orchards, and 50 mu of water surface, forming a modern ecological circular planting and breeding model of raising cattle, sheep, and chickens and planting fruit trees on the mountain, and raising pigs, releasing fish, and in the rice fieldsraising geeseand ducks. "The purpose of our cooperative is to be a safe and reassuring steward for what goes on the tip of the tongue." Huang Huali introduced, "For example, our Xiangshan fruit farm plants more than 120 mu of Guiwei lychee variety, and during the lychee flowering period we release Chinese native bees, which improves the quality of the Guiwei fruit and also produces pure, pollution-free lychee native honey with the fragrance of osmanthus, forming a dual effect of combining planting and breeding."

The cooperative takes in surrounding unemployed people, households enjoying the five guarantees, and disabled farmer households, solving their employment problems and providing them with technical guidance and sales support. "We took in an elderly person living alone who keeps bees. He could not sell much of his honey by himself each year. After joining the cooperative, with our help, he sold it very quickly." Huang Huali said, "There is also an unemployed person whose husband is paralyzed in bed and whose son is in school. After we took her into the cooperative, we trained her to do WeChat business, easing her financial burden." Combining online and offline gives wings of the internet

From April this year to now, the cooperative's lychee and native honey output has been 40,000 jin, with income reaching 3.6 million yuan, while online sales income has already been more than 1 million yuan. "The cooperative has set up a Weidian shop and a Taobao shop. For many offline sales, I will also intentionally direct them to place orders at our online store, so we rarely encounter the problem of delayed payments." Huang Huali told the reporter cheerfully.

Relying on the Lingshan County Sanke Agricultural Trade Entrepreneurship Park, Huang Huali's cooperative has received many preferential conditions: two years of rent-free use, a monthly utility subsidy of 1,300 yuan; and targeted entrepreneurship and innovation training will be held. Enterprises in the entrepreneurship park develop in a "cluster" manner, promoting each other and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results. This year's "Double Eleven", SF Express will also move into the entrepreneurship park, and the products of enterprises in the park will be delivered to more places, faster and farther.

This year, Huang Huali led the cooperative team to participate in the Guangxi E-commerce Entrepreneurship Competition. Their on-site ecological circular planting and breeding project made it into the top 30 and won first prize. Next, Huang Huali plans to build an ecological circular planting and breeding demonstration base based on Ye Ge Farm, and promote Lingshan native chicken chicks online, selling Lingshan native chickens to farther places.
