Since 2008, Liu Zexi, a college student from Shuangjiang Village, Xiahuaqiao Town, Shaoyang County, Hunan Province, has invested more than 5 million yuan, contracted over 300 mu of mountain land, planted trees on the hills, cleared abandoned land to grow grass, and raised pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese and other poultry and livestock in mixed farming in the woods. All the poultry and livestock graze on grass and wild fruits in the mountains, peck for insects, and roam freely, giving the meat a delicious flavor and multiplying the output value.
