On December 12, Zhu Wensi, a college graduate in Wuyi County who started her own business growing greenhouse chrysanthemums, was busy shipping chrysanthemums for distributors.
Zhu Wensi, 26 this year, worked at an enterprise after graduating from university. Last year, she saw publicity by the Wuyi County government departments promoting civilized tomb sweeping and green remembrance, and became convinced that growing chrysanthemums was an industry with strong market prospects. She then arranged land transfer, contacted seedling suppliers, and learned cultivation techniques, and in June this year registered a family farm. Of the 50,000 pots of chrysanthemums planted in the first batch this year, 20,000 pots for Winter Solstice remembrance have already been ordered by customers. The other 30,000 pots of chrysanthemum seedlings for the Spring Festival and Qingming markets are also growing well. At present, Zhu Wensi is negotiating land transfer matters with villagers, planning to expand the greenhouse chrysanthemum planting area by another 20 mu next year. Photo by Zhang Jiancheng
