As the saying goes, "In heaven there is dragon meat, on earth there is donkey meat," and every part of the donkey is treasured. Li Houhuan of Lijia Village, Saiwusu, Zhaojun Town, Dalad Banner, has made his way to prosperity by raising donkeys.

On December 9, the reporter came to Li Houhuan's home, where Li Houhuan, who was feeding the donkeys, looked especially happy. Li Houhuan is 58 years old this year, and he and his son Li Xinjiang began raising donkeys in 2012, starting with just over a dozen. When donkey meat had not yet gained consumer recognition, he earned more than 30,000 yuan in the first year. Although the income was not much, he still firmly believed that raising donkeys would become a distinctive form of farming.

Today, Li Houhuan's farming scale has continued to expand, increasing to more than 50 donkeys, and this year he registered and established the Dalad Banner Lingyan Farm. Li Houhuan told the reporter: "Donkey meat has the health benefits of enriching the blood and boosting qi, and donkey hide is also a top-grade medicinal material for making ejiao. Now I can earn more than 100,000 yuan a year, and the market demand exceeds supply." Seeing the business opportunity, Li Houhuan has new plans for his road to prosperity through raising donkeys. He said: "At present, there are still relatively few people raising donkeys around Dalad Banner. Next year I plan to raise some funds and make the farming business even bigger."
