Yutian, Tangshan promotes a new cabbage storage model with IoT technology
According to a report in Tangshan Labor Daily, the Yutian County recently organized an on-site meeting at the Shuqing Farmers' Professional Cooperative in Guojiatun Town to demonstrate and promote Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei intelligent Chinese cabbage storage technology and equipment, and to build storage cellars. Gao Lipu, a researcher from the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, was invited to explain and guide more than 100 large-scale vegetable growers from Liaoning, Leting, Fengrun, Zunhua and other places on-site on the construction technology of a new type of Chinese cabbage storage cellar equipped with ventilation devices based on IoT technology, and on the new well-shaped Chinese cabbage arrangement model.
Yutian County is known as the "Hometown of Chinese Cabbage". The county grows 100,000 mu of cabbage with an output of 700,000 tonnes, and is an important cabbage supply base for Beijing, Tianjin, Northeast China and Inner Mongolia. However, cabbage production is highly seasonal, and in winter the cabbage must be stored in cellars. During cellar storage, the cabbage is prone to rotting and loss due to heat, so it needs to be "turned" frequently, which consumes a large amount of manpower, and the process of "turning the cabbage" also easily causes man-made losses.
To solve the cabbage storage problem, Yutian County actively cooperated with the Vegetable Research Center of the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, jointly undertaking and implementing the Chinese cabbage intelligent storage technology and equipment demonstration project, which was successful. This new "Chinese cabbage intelligent storage" technology, relying on IoT technology, solves the problem of "turning cabbage" during storage from three aspects and ensures cabbage quality: First, it solves the ventilation problem. The new technology reserves a ventilation duct at the bottom of the cellar, reserves one air supply outlet at one end of the cellar, and installs one intelligent fan, which can send cold air from outside the cellar into the cellar through the fan for circulating ventilation and appropriately reduce humidity; second, it realizes intelligent networking and intelligent control. By using an intelligent fan, the temperature and humidity inside the cellar can be displayed in real time on a mobile phone or computer, so it can be decided at any time whether to supply air, realizing intelligent control; third, it adopts a new cabbage storage and arrangement technology. Previously, everyone had always used the straight-line arrangement, but now it has been changed to the well-shaped arrangement, realizing ventilation and air permeability between cabbages.
The new "Chinese cabbage intelligent storage" technology reduces the amount of manual work, realizes no airing and no turning of cabbage, and no longer requires space reserved for turning cabbage. The storage capacity per unit area is doubled, increasing benefits by 30%. This technology plays a positive role in promoting the change of the traditional Chinese cabbage storage method in our city and surrounding areas, and in demonstrating and promoting IoT intelligent storage technology, especially in deepening Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei agricultural industry interconnection and cooperation, promoting the development of the city's modern vegetable industry, and increasing farmers' income.
