First intelligent fertilizer bag-opening machine debuts, driving full automation of compound fertilizer production

On October 16, during the new product launch event for a digital lightweight production line held in Linshu County, Shandong Province, the first intelligent fertilizer bag-opening machine in China made its debut and received positive recognition from industry experts.

At present, young people are unwilling to engage in heavy physical labor in dusty and poor environments, and fertilizer companies face problems such as difficulty in recruiting workers and high labor costs, so automation is the general trend.

Shang Zhaocong, director of the National Chemical Fertilizer Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Shanghai), said: "In the entire production process of compound fertilizer, from intermediate production to later packaging, and then to testing before leaving the factory, corresponding automated equipment has already been developed. Only the raw material bag-opening and handling stage had not achieved automation. The intelligent bag-opening machine fills this gap, enabling the entire compound fertilizer production process to reach full automation."

The intelligent bag-opening machine includes a bag-gripping system, bag-pressing system, cutting system, crushing system, baling system and sorting system, among others. Among them, the sorting system can precisely sort raw materials, ensuring raw material purity and avoiding past cases where product quality failed to meet standards because impurities were mixed into raw materials. Operating the intelligent bag-opening machine requires only two employees and can reduce the workforce by four to five workers, greatly reducing labor costs. Zhang Zhanfang, general manager of Shandong Senye Ecological Engineering Co., Ltd., introduced that the electricity and maintenance costs of the bag-opening machine are less than 100,000 yuan a year, and compared with the reduced labor expenditure, the cost can be recovered within three years.

Xiu Xuefeng, executive vice chairman of the China Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association, said that according to calculations, the logistics cost within the factory area for producing one ton of compound fertilizer is 16 yuan, while the cost of processing one ton of product is only about 100 yuan. The digital lightweight production line that Shandong Senye will launch in the future, with the intelligent bag-opening machine as its core, will bring a revolution to compound fertilizer production.
