"Jidou 17" sets China's large-scale high-yield record for summer-sown soybean

On October 12, an expert group composed of domestic soybean breeding experts conducted an on-site actual harvest yield measurement on a 682-mu summer-sown "Jidou 17" soybean production field planted by the Xintai Professional Planting Cooperative in Zhujiazhuang Village, Gaocheng District, Shijiazhuang City. A random 10.78 mu was harvested, with an average yield of 332.1 kg per mu, setting China's large-scale high-yield record for summer-sown soybean.

Zhang Mengchen, chief developer of "Jidou 17" and head of the Huang-Huai-Hai regional expert group of the National Soybean Industry System, introduced that this variety is the widely adaptable soybean variety with the broadest approved promotion area in China. Its current promotion range covers 10 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in the Huang-Huai-Hai region (including the northwest spring-sowing area). It has been listed by the Ministry of Agriculture as a leading variety and has been promoted and planted on over a million mu nationwide. (Reporter Zhao Hongmei)
