Premium Variety Innovative Cultivation Trial Project Succeeds

Recently, the reporter learned from the Shaanxi Dicotyledon Cherry Science and Technology Demonstration Park that the park's trial and demonstration project for cultivating premium large cherry varieties such as Jindinghong, Meizao, Mingzhu, Brooks, and Summit has achieved success, marking that this innovative cultivation trial project is "taking root" in Baqiao District, Xi'an City.

Zhang Chongmin, head of the Shaanxi Dicotyledon Cherry Science and Technology Demonstration Park, has been engaged in large cherry cultivation and technical research for more than 30 years and is an outstanding "planting craftsman." He told the reporter that over the past two years, the park has carried out technical research experiments and demonstration promotion in areas including cherry planting and growth technology suitable for the region, suitable shaping and cultivation of cherry fruit tree varieties, seasonal physiological growth water and fertilizer configuration, and standardized planting management and cultivation. This has demonstrated and driven more than 1,600 households in Xizhangpo Village, Xiwang Subdistrict, Baqiao District, the "Cherry Valley," and more than 10 surrounding villages to actively carry out cherry variety improvement and standardized, normalized, and technology-driven planting management, making local people's lives increasingly prosperous. At present, the Shaanxi Dicotyledon Cherry Science and Technology Demonstration Park has a cherry planting area of more than 3,000 mu, of which more than 1,600 mu uses seasonal water and fertilizer configuration management. In order to meet market demand, the park is developing organic, green, and pollution-free cherry products and is actively making the leap toward modern urban sightseeing and tourism agriculture.

Zhang Chongmin believes that the introduction of premium varieties and advanced cultivation techniques is only the first step of the "Long March." Next, they will continue to carry out standardized technical demonstrations of field and greenhouse cherry facility cultivation as well as the renewal and replacement of old varieties. Through technical training and on-site field technical practical guidance, they will achieve a radiating promotion effect that advances both demonstration-driven development and technical talent, enabling cherry planting in Xizhangpo Village and surrounding villages to enter a new realm and further promoting the development of the cherry industry in Baqiao District.
