"With this instrument, whether enterprises are self-testing pollution emissions or environmental law enforcement is being carried out, it is more accurate and convenient," introduced Li Chunyuan, deputy director and spokesperson of the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau.

On June 23, the only real-time soot tester in China independently developed by Bazhou Jingbo Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd. - the beta-sensor rapid soot tester - was officially put into production. At the same time, the Hebei provincial local standard "Determination of particulate matter in waste gas from stationary pollution sources - beta-ray method," jointly drafted by Jingbo and the Hebei Provincial Environmental Monitoring Center Station, was also officially released and implemented.

The beta-sensor rapid soot tester is currently the only rapid tester in China for measuring the concentration of dust particulate matter. Its technology is a first in China's dust emission testing field, not only filling the technical gap in the domestic soot testing field, but also greatly promoting China's environmental protection and treatment work. The arrival of this new environmental protection technology product overturns the traditional filter cartridge gravimetric soot testing method used for decades.

The tester is divided into two parts: the main unit and the probe gun. Compared with traditional testing equipment, this tester has a compact body and is easy to carry. The main unit looks about the size of an everyday household portable suitcase, weighs about 3 kg, and can be carried with one hand, making it very convenient to transport.

Fast data output is the biggest reason this product is favored by law enforcement departments and enterprises. "After preheating the sensor of the testing equipment, insert it into the flue, and staff can directly read the soot emission data on the device. If traditional equipment were used for this process, it would take at least two days." Ge Liang, a researcher in Jingbo's R&D department, demonstrated the use of the tester to reporters in front of a flue flow field simulation device: pour dust into the flue, start the machine, and the concentration, temperature, wind speed and other data of the soot in the flue can be read directly on the machine. The whole process takes only a few seconds.

"As a measuring instrument for determining the concentration of dust particulate matter, this product not only has the advantages of good stability, simple structure, convenient operation, saving time and effort, fast testing speed, and immediate data output, but can also perform accurate testing under complex conditions such as high humidity and ultra-low concentration, greatly improving testing efficiency," Ge Liang introduced.

It is understood that the beta-sensor rapid soot tester was independently and successfully developed by Jingbo at a cost of 80 million yuan over 8 years. Through repeated experiments and innovation by R&D personnel, the beta-sensor rapid soot testing series products can currently be applied to environmental protection bureaus and meteorological bureaus at all levels across the country, as well as many industries such as steel, papermaking, chemicals, thermal power, catering, and dust removal equipment.
