Precision hill-drop direct seeding technology for early rice successfully trialed in Jiangxi
Recently, good news came from the yield measurement site in the early rice demonstration field of Jiangxi Chengxin Farm: the average yield per mu using rice precision hill-drop direct seeding technology and machinery reached 554.7 kg (dry grain) by actual harvesting, which preliminarily verified the feasibility of rice precision hill-drop direct seeding technology and machinery in suitable areas of Jiangxi and promoted the development of rice planting mechanization in Jiangxi.
This year, the College of Engineering of Jiangxi Agricultural University cooperated with Jiangxi Chengxin Farm to apply the rice precision hill-drop direct seeding technology and machinery developed by the team of Academician Luo Xiwen of South China Agricultural University for early rice extension and demonstration. This technology can accurately and evenly distribute pre-germinated seeds in rows and hills in the field according to the requirements for planting spacing, row spacing and number of seeds per hill. Compared with manual broadcasting, it has good ventilation and light transmission and is less prone to pests and diseases.
It is understood that this year Jiangxi Chengxin Farm took the lead in carrying out the demonstration and application of mechanized precision hill-drop direct seeding technology for early and middle rice on an area of more than 660 mu, while the technical team cooperated in more than 10 counties including Poyang, Duchang, Ruichang, Xiushui, Jishui, Wan'an, Fengcheng, Gao'an and Anyi to carry out the demonstration and application of mechanized precision hill-drop direct seeding technology for early and middle rice on an area of nearly 2,000 mu.
