Zhejiang: "Power Stations" Laid on Top of Agricultural Greenhouses

On July 14, employees at the Yinong Sandy Land Green Pure Produce Fruit and Vegetable Test Farm in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, moved seedling trays onto electric transmission equipment inside a seedling-raising greenhouse. The electricity generated by the solar photovoltaic panels on the greenhouse roof can not only supply the seedling greenhouse but also sell the surplus to the State Grid.

In recent years, photovoltaic projects in Zhejiang have flourished across the board. In addition to rooftop photovoltaics on factory buildings and residential rooftops, photovoltaic equipment can be seen on farmland vegetable greenhouses, fish ponds, community vegetable markets and other places. As of the end of June this year, Zhejiang's installed photovoltaic power generation capacity had reached 2610 megawatts. In the first half of the year alone, the capacity of grid-connected photovoltaic projects reached 973 megawatts, and photovoltaic power generation in the first half of the year reached 876 million kWh.
