Tangshan: Zunhua Chestnut Science and Technology Project Passes Expert Acceptance

??? Recently, the project "Development of Commercial Processing Technology for JD Chestnuts," jointly undertaken by Hebei Liyuan Food Co., Ltd. and Hebei Meikeduo Food Co., Ltd., successfully completed all research and development tasks and passed the expert acceptance organized by the Tangshan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, opening up a new path for the commercial development of JD chestnuts.

??? The "Development of Commercial Processing Technology for JD Chestnuts" project is a sub-project of the "Research and Demonstration of Key Technologies for Yanshan Chestnut Industrialization" project. The project secured 350,000 yuan in Tangshan municipal science and technology funding. After 3 years of implementation, it achieved complete separation of the shell from the kernel through machine rubbing of chestnuts under low-temperature roasting, with intact kernel shelling and a shelling rate of over 98%, upgrading small-package chestnut kernel production from the original labor-intensive semi-automated operation to a centrally integrated fully automated production line, and increasing daily production capacity from the original 10 to 15 tons to 30 to 40 tons, greatly improving the level of technical equipment, quality control and commercial production capacity.

??? In addition, through research on chestnut powder production technology, and after multiple analysis tests on solubility, swelling degree, reconstitution properties, etc., the optimal color-protecting solution formula, optimal drying process and extrusion process were determined, the optimal formula and production process for instant chestnut powder were developed, and a demonstration production line for chestnut powder was built, enriching the variety of deep-processed chestnut products and providing scientific and technological support for the industrialization and commercialization of chestnuts in the city.
