New apple cultivar Huashuo officially approved

Reported from our newspaper: The disease-resistant, high-quality, early-to-mid-season apple cultivar "Huashuo", bred by the apple breeding research group of the Zhengzhou Fruit Research Institute under the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, recently passed national forest tree cultivar approval. This cultivar is a major advance in China's apple breeding, changing the situation in which early-to-mid-season cultivars were mainly dominated by the foreign cultivar "Gala", and is expected to replace "Gala" to become the main early-to-mid-season cultivar planted in China.
