??? According to reports, the province's goji berry industry suffers from problems of small fruit, low yield and relatively poor quality. Wang Fengbao and his project team spent 10 years carrying out the breeding of new high-yield, high-quality, disease-resistant goji berry varieties, and ultimately obtained the northern goji berry autotetraploid new variety "Baoqi No. 1". This variety has the excellent characteristics of large fruit, high yield, high quality and disease resistance, with an average single fruit weight of 1.5 grams, and the average fresh fruit yield per mu of three-year-old plants is 750 kg, an increase of 229.2% over the control variety "Zushanhong". The successful breeding of the new variety will help enhance the market competitiveness of the province's goji berry industry and promote the sustained and rapid development of the goji berry industry.
