Luan County's peanut centralized-scattered planting management model achieves high yield and high efficiency
This website news (reporter Li Shijie) Recently, farmer Pei Guangchao of Fuzhuang Village, Guma Town, Luan County, once again harvested a bumper crop from his 6 mu of peanuts. He said with emotion: "Before, each mu yielded only about 250 kg, now it has reached nearly 400 kg. Centralized-scattered planting is really good!"
The centralized-scattered planting Pei Guangchao mentioned is actually the "peanut centralized-scattered high-yield and high-efficiency planting management model" jointly implemented by the Luan County Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Bureau and the Luan County Baixin Peanut Planting Professional Cooperative and other units. The research and promotion of this model mainly targets the actual situation under the current rural land contract management model, such as peanut planting by individual households, low level of mechanized management, high labor and production costs, poor potential for increasing yield and income, declining operating efficiency, and difficulties in land transfer. It is a complete technical management model formed through years of research, exploration, and experimental demonstration.
According to Zhang Jianhua, deputy director of the Luan County Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Bureau in charge of project technology, the so-called "centralized" refers to the centralized use of production materials and technical means in the main links of the peanut production process; "scattered" refers to the decentralized management of farmers' land use and product disposal. The specific operating method is that the Luan County Baixin Peanut Planting Professional Cooperative signs peanut trusteeship contracts with farmers and charges a certain fee. "Baixin" centrally purchases and supplies seeds, plastic film, fertilizers, pesticides, and other materials needed for production, and centrally organizes the implementation of production technical management. After the autumn peanut harvest, processing and sales are arranged by the farmers themselves or handled by "Baixin" on their behalf. Its core technology is, on the basis of not changing the nature of the land and operating income, to scientifically allocate and use resources, implement advanced soil physical and chemical properties and product quality testing methods, scientific seed selection, rational fertilization, optimized integrated technologies for pest, disease, and weed control and field sowing and harvesting management, expand the scale of regional production, and realize centralized production management and decentralized product handling. While moderately increasing the service income of agricultural professional cooperatives, it also increases farmers' land production and operating income.
Pei Guangchao said that this spring he handed over his 6 mu of land to the "Baixin" cooperative at a cost of 500 yuan per mu for centralized-scattered high-yield and high-efficiency peanut planting. Subsequently, the agricultural machinery operator arranged by "Baixin" drove a special peanut seeder to complete in one pass the field rotary tillage, ridging, fertilization, sowing, herbicide spraying, film mulching, and soil covering. "Production materials such as seeds, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides were all uniformly arranged by the cooperative. I just wait for a good harvest in autumn!"
It is understood that since 2012, this model has been demonstrated and promoted in Luan County and relevant counties and districts of Tangshan and Qinhuangdao Cities. At the same time, it has actively expanded its radiation and driving scope, and has also arranged multi-point trials and demonstration areas in peanut-producing areas such as Kuancheng County of Chengde City and Jinghai County of Tianjin. Up to now, the cumulative promoted application area has reached 364,000 mu, with an average yield increase of 71.8 kg per mu, a total increase in output of 26.1352 million kg, and a total increase in net income of 180.1205 million yuan, benefiting more than 58,000 farmer households. Experts from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other relevant units believe that the implementation of this model has achieved very good technical and economic results and is very suitable for promotion and application in the vast peanut-producing areas under the current land contract management situation.
