Non-GMO Herbicide-Tolerant Rapeseed Launched

Recently, Rotam Group, the fastest-growing multinational company in the crop protection industry, signed a new cooperation agreement with CIBUS, a leading company in the development of non-GMO crop traits, to jointly develop a new herbicide-tolerant rapeseed variety - rapeseed tolerant to sulfonylurea (SU) herbicides - to meet the growing demand in various countries for high-quality, non-GMO rapeseed oil.

With the launch of the new varieties developed through their collaboration, CIBUS and Rotam will provide the rapeseed industry with a new way to reduce production costs and increase yields, accelerating the development of the rapeseed industry.

According to reports, in the perception of Chinese consumers, non-GMO rapeseed oil is a healthier alternative to soybean oil and palm oil, and future demand for rapeseed oil will far exceed current supply. The successful application of non-GMO technology in the development of rapeseed varieties will help meet the growing demand of Chinese consumers for rapeseed oil.

It is reported that the new product can not only greatly reduce the amount of chemicals needed to control weeds, thereby significantly lowering costs, but also increase crop yields and be more environmentally friendly.
