First herbivorous edible mushroom successfully bred in Heilongjiang
It is understood that the Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences has successfully bred Heilongjiang's first straw-decay edible mushroom variety, "Heinong Stropharia rugosoannulata No. 1". Unlike mushroom varieties such as black fungus, shiitake, and oyster mushroom that use sawdust as the main cultivation material, "Heinong Stropharia rugosoannulata No. 1" is completely "herbivorous" - straw, corncobs, livestock and poultry manure, and other agricultural and pastoral waste can all be used as materials, and it can be planted in open fields.
Stropharia rugosoannulata has an umbrella-shaped appearance and a thick, solid stem. According to Ni Shujun, an expert at the Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, testing has shown that "Heinong Stropharia rugosoannulata No. 1" has more than double the content of various amino acids and protein compared with ordinary mushroom varieties, and several times higher iron content. This variety can be planted in open fields, has a wide temperature adaptation range, and can be cultivated through methods such as interplanting with corn, rice seedling greenhouses, and forest land. The average net income per mu in open-field production can reach 5,000 yuan. The waste material after cultivation can be directly plowed back into the field after mushroom harvesting, increasing fertility and improving the soil, avoiding straw burning, and thereby achieving original ecological and purely natural production.
