Post-80s Liu Chang spreads positive energy, joining together with others to do good deeds

There is a kind of energy called positive energy, which can let people see hope in helplessness; there are people full of positive energy who can infect those around them with practical actions and drive more people to take part in dedicating love. The "post-80s" young man Liu Chang is just such a person full of positive energy. While working at the Pingquan County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, he formed a team of several hundred volunteers, leading everyone to donate money for education, help the poor and those in difficulty, and care for orphans and the disabled. In two years, the donated supplies and charitable funds totaled more than 1.3 million yuan.

In early 2014, at Liu Chang's initiative, a group of like-minded, public-spirited and caring people reached a consensus and formed the "Pingquan Positive Energy Volunteer Service Team." More and more young people in society used this platform to actively contribute to their hometown with a sense of ownership.

After a year of weathering and tempering, at the end of 2014, Liu Chang registered the "Pingquan Positive Energy Caring Volunteer Association" with the Civil Affairs Bureau, and this nongovernmental volunteer service team moved onto a more formal track. Under Liu Chang's leadership, the association organized volunteers to carry out volunteer service activities in various forms.

Over the past two years, their footprints of love have covered the streets and alleys of the county seat, and they have many times carried out activities to help those in urgent need, rescue those in difficulty, assist orphans, help the disabled, and support education, winning everyone's trust and support. In November 2014, Liu Chang received a request for help from a teacher. Her child had leukemia, and the family could no longer bear the huge medical expenses. After verifying the situation, Liu Chang organized and launched a large charity performance and fundraising event themed "Building the Miracle of Life with Love" to help a little girl with leukemia, raising a total of 179,805 yuan in charitable funds.

On March 16, 2015, Liu Chang helped a poor high school student who was outstanding in both character and learning and whose father had brain cancer, raising 3,500 yuan in financial aid for him. After the student was successfully admitted to Nanjing University of Science and Technology with excellent results, he also actively helped him contact a caring enterprise to sponsor 12,000 yuan per year for his university living expenses until graduation.

On August 5, 2015, a fire broke out at the home of a villager in Shuanghe Village, Huangtuliangzi Town. After learning of the matter that night, Liu Chang immediately raised 3,000 yuan in emergency funds and drove overnight to the disaster-stricken family to deliver the emergency funds in time.

In October 2015, the Pingquan Positive Energy Caring Volunteer Association connected with the "Train of Heavenly Sounds" hearing aid charity project team, successfully introduced the charity project into Pingquan County, and distributed hearing aids free of charge to 498 hearing-impaired people in Pingquan, helping them hear beautiful sounds.

They organized volunteers to go to the Pingquan County Glory Home for Martyrs' Families, where they cut the elderly people's hair, chatted with them, and helped them clean their rooms; raised funds to buy cookies to give to disabled children at the Pingquan Special Education Center and poor children at Yamenzi Central Primary School in Qigou Town; helped peasant families impoverished by illness, donating living expenses for two young children... Through cold and heat, through many holidays, when everyone was gathering together, Liu Chang and his Pingquan Positive Energy Caring Volunteer Association walked the road of volunteer service, going again and again into remote poor villages to give their love.

"Everyone being a good person, banding together to do good deeds, and encouraging everyone to be people full of positive energy, this is my original intention." The "post-80s" young man Liu Chang said this. (Xia Zhenxing)
