November pig prices are expected to see little increase, and pig farmers need to be cautious
Industry analysis: Before the end of November, pig prices are expected to have little room for increase.
In the past two days, due to widespread heavy snow in many places across northern China, temperatures dropped by 6-10 degrees, making it more difficult to sell live pigs. Farmers' reluctance to sell increased, which made it harder to purchase live pigs. Weather factors also increased purchasing and transportation costs, and slaughterhouses chose to purchase nearby, causing purchase prices to generally rise. However, in areas where the weather has cleared, there are also moves to push prices down.
At present, pig prices in northern regions are adjusting steadily, mainly affected by weather factors, while pig prices in southern regions are mainly stable, mainly affected by supply and demand. The pig market is now waiting for the start of cured meat production in southern regions, but cured meat production requires conditions: sunny days and temperatures steadily around 10 degrees. At that time, other factors may also play a boosting role. However, it is expected that there will still be quite a few large pigs available for slaughter, and given farmers' concerns about epidemics, pig prices are expected to have little room for increase before the end of November. It is recommended that farmers restrain their holding back of pigs and raise them cautiously.
