Vegetable greenhouses build the dream of prosperity for vegetable farmers in Dengta Town, Xi'an District
Villager Nie Chengfu working in a vegetable greenhouse
Moving among vegetable greenhouses supported by steel frameworks, Nie Chengfu, a villager from Group 6 of Dongmeng Village, Dengta Town, Xi'an District, is full of joy. As he busied himself, he casually picked a few tomatoes and ate them without washing them. "These are all pollution-free green vegetables, with no pesticides sprayed at all. Since I can eat them so confidently, everyone can buy them with confidence. Every single vegetable here is green and healthy."
The diligent Nie Chengfu is 54 years old this year and is a locally well-known expert grower. Because the vegetables he grows have a high survival rate and good returns, many vegetable growers in Dongmeng Village and the surrounding areas have come to him for advice, and when vegetable growers in the same village wanted to build vegetable greenhouses, he also took the initiative to provide technical guidance.
Nie Chengfu's vegetable greenhouse covers an area of 2 mu and mainly grows pollution-free green vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes and eggplants. Because his vegetables have a high "gold content" as green food, as soon as they enter the market they become "hot items" in the market.
By growing greenhouse vegetables, Nie Chengfu's life has become better and better. "Two greenhouses can bring in more than 100,000 yuan in income, and I set my own working hours, which is much better than working for someone else," Nie Chengfu said happily. "Most importantly, with just these two greenhouses, I have put both of my children through university, and that is the thing I am most proud of." Looking at the lush green vegetables, Nie Chengfu is full of hope for the future.
