The Spring Festival wish of Lyu Jingxiu, director of the village committee of Xindifang Village, Ying'an Town, Hunchun City, Jilin Province, is: "Escaping poverty is not about one household escaping it, and becoming prosperous is not about one household becoming prosperous. In the new year, I want to lead all the people of the village to escape poverty and become prosperous." In 2012, Lyu Jingxiu founded the Jingxiu Breeding Professional Cooperative in Xindifang Village, Ying'an Town, Hunchun City, building 8000 sq m of pigsties and 4000 sq m of processing workshops and warehouses. The cooperative is responsible for teaching breeding techniques and opening up sales channels, and organizes centralized purchasing of various production materials needed for pig farming. Lyu Jingxiu said: "Since the cooperative was established, I have tried my best to recruit poor villagers to work in the cooperative. Last year their average net wage income reached 24,000 yuan, several times higher than the income from farming." This year, the cooperative plans to further expand the scale of piglet breeding. With the support of the Hunchun City government, the cooperative's investment in pig breeding is expected to exceed 1.2 million yuan in 2017.
