Qin Zhenrong, a college graduate who majored in biology at Nanjing Forestry University, chose to return to her hometown, Qutang Town, Hai'an County, Jiangsu Province, to start her own business growing gerbera daisies. After more than 7 years of dedicated research, she mastered core techniques such as seedling culture medium preparation and electric constant-temperature control, giving the gerbera daisy seedlings she cultivates strong disease resistance and a high rooting rate. At present, Qin Zhenrong supplies about 400,000 gerbera daisy seedlings to the domestic market each year, with income reaching more than 300,000 yuan. At the same time, she also holds training courses, teaching local villagers the technique of bottle culture for gerbera daisy seedlings and leading them onto the path to prosperity together. It is understood that gerbera daisy seedlings are extremely delicate, and once bacteria or viruses invade during the cultivation process, it can very easily cause the entire batch of seedlings to die. In China, there are currently only about 10 enterprises or individuals engaged in gerbera daisy seedling cultivation. Xinhua News Agency release (Photo by Li Cungen)
