"In winter pig farming, the stocking density should be appropriately increased, because when the stocking density is high, the floor space per pig shrinks, and they can keep each other warm when lying down."

"In winter pig farming, the proportion of energy in the feed should be moderately increased. Generally speaking, it should be lower for large pigs and higher for small pigs."

On February 19, at the pig farm of Chongqing Meijianda Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., Wang Guanjun was voluntarily explaining pig farming techniques to farmers around the company.

Wang Guanjun joined the army at age 18, and after being discharged went to other places to work. In 2012, he gave up a high salary and returned to his hometown, where he established in Sujia Village, Bashan Town, a standardized pig farm with 500 sows in stock and 10,000 commercial pigs marketed annually.

When it comes to pig farming techniques, Wang Guanjun has always taught them to others without reservation. In just 4 years, he led more than 200 households in Sujia Village and surrounding villages to get rich together.

Giving up a high salary to return home and start a business

In 2004, after being discharged from the army, Wang Guanjun went to work in Guangdong, Zhejiang, and other places.

During the 8 years of striving away from home, relying on diligence and wisdom, Wang Guanjun rose from the lowest level to a senior executive, successively serving as provincial-region manager of Guangdong Chuangsheng Stainless Steel Products Company and Zhejiang ASD Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd.

In 2012, at the rising stage of his career, Wang Guanjun actively responded to the county government's call for returning home to start businesses, resolutely gave up an annual salary of more than 200,000 yuan and the comfortable living environment of a big city, chose to return home to start a business, and became a "pig farmer."

"My grandfather and father both worked in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine. Influenced from childhood, I learned a lot of animal husbandry techniques and had some experience in pig farming," Wang Guanjun said. He said that returning home to start a business was a decision he made after deep consideration. He raised more than 20 million yuan on his own and created a standardized pig farm covering more than 500 mu.

"No matter where you are, as long as you are true to your own heart, life will be wonderful," Wang Guanjun said. Being able to contribute to his hometown's development and change its current situation had always been his dream, and it was also the main reason he chose to return home to start a business.

Innovative development brings wonderful results

After returning home to start his business, Wang Guanjun made improving pig quality the first goal of the company's development and decided to carry out brand-based operations.

"Pig quality affects the health of countless households, and there can be no carelessness at all," Wang Guanjun said.

In order to raise pigs well, Wang Guanjun participated in technical training many times and visited some large domestic pig farming enterprises to study advanced concepts of pig breeding.

In order to make the company's development more dynamic, Wang Guanjun changed the traditional extensive pig farming method, adopted the mindset of factory production, applied the concepts of modernized, large-scale, digital, and refined management, attached importance to data collection and analysis, and hired professional technicians to "escort" pig farming.

Through several years of development, the pig farming company founded by Wang Guanjun became a municipal-level leading enterprise in Chongqing's agricultural industrialization, and the "Meijianda pigs" it raised were recognized as pollution-free agricultural products.

Driving villagers to get rich together

Relying on modern scientific and technological means and refined management, the pigs raised by Wang Guanjun were deeply favored by the market, which also greatly spurred the enthusiasm of villagers around the company for the pig farming industry.

While continuously expanding the scale of the pig farm, Wang Guanjun actively played a typical demonstration role, taught pig farming techniques and epidemic prevention knowledge to his fellow villagers without reservation, and helped surrounding farmers take the path of scientific and green farming.

Villager Wang Tianyao of Miaoyakou Village is 45 years old this year. Starting in 2012, he invested more than 300,000 yuan successively to develop rabbit farming. Because his techniques were not up to standard and epidemic prevention could not keep up, the farm kept losing money, which dealt him a considerable blow.

After learning about Wang Tianyao's situation, Wang Guanjun, drawing on his own experience, immediately provided him with psychological counseling.

On Wang Guanjun's suggestion, Wang Tianyao bought more than 200 high-quality pigs to raise. In addition to giving Wang Tianyao advice, Wang Guanjun also provided him with free full-process technical guidance.

"Wang Guanjun is a very good person. When we ask him about knowledge related to pig farming, he always explains it to us patiently," Wang Tianyao said. With Wang Guanjun's help, last year he earned more than 100,000 yuan by selling pigs.

In addition to voluntarily explaining pig farming techniques to villagers, Wang Guanjun also transferred 500 mu of land in Sujia Village to build an ecological leisure agricultural sightseeing park, develop circular agriculture, and provide employment for more than 50 people in the village.

In just a few years, driven by Wang Guanjun, more than 200 households in Sujia Village and surrounding villages embarked on the road to prosperity.

"If one person gets rich, that does not count as being rich; only when everyone gets rich does it count as being rich." Wang Guanjun said this sentence was his original intention in returning home to start a business, and he will always keep walking this road of leading his fellow villagers to get rich together.
