Pig farmers in Chengchuan Town, Otog Front Banner, are on the road to prosperity
Walking into He Shenglin's pig farm in Dachi Village, Chengchuan Town, Otog Front Banner, rows of standardized breeding units, a fully automated feed processing plant, and clean and tidy livestock manure and urine treatment buildings come into view.
The pig farm adopts a fully enclosed, automated modern breeding model, where feeding, cleaning, disinfection and other tasks in the pig farm can all be completed automatically. The feed comes from corn grown by farmers, and livestock manure is composted into farmyard manure to achieve low-cost increases in corn yield and income, reduce pig farming costs, and realize an efficient circular utilization of crop farming to livestock farming to crop farming.
At present, He Shenglin's pig farm has 285 pigs on hand, including 28 basic sows, 123 fattening pigs, and 134 piglets, and the family's annual net income can reach more than 600,000 yuan.
Speaking of the next step in development, He Shenglin has a clear development plan: "Establish a cooperative, organize the surrounding farmers and herders for specialized production, register a trademark, and supply the market with pork under Chengchuan Town's distinctive brand to improve product competitiveness."
He Shenglin is one of the typical examples of Chengchuan Town relying on local agricultural and livestock resource advantages to promote the transformation of the agricultural and livestock industry. In recent years, Chengchuan Town has vigorously promoted a new model of scientific breeding among pig farmers. Pig farming has developed from the traditional free-range method to today's large-scale, industrialized breeding model, replacing a large number of free-range households, reducing labor costs, and improving economic benefits.
It is understood that Chengchuan Town has 12,000 pigs on hand, and the whole town has a total of 3 leading enterprises in agricultural industrialization. Starting this year, Chengchuan Town will gradually build a complete industrial chain integrating scientific research, feed processing, breeding pig reproduction, and slaughtering and processing.
