The "road to wealth" in greenhouses

Walking into the greenhouses of Xibula Village, Shierliancheng Township, Jungar Banner, you are greeted by a scene full of greenery and vitality. "In less than a month, if you come back, you'll be able to eat muskmelons," said Feng Jun, who was tending the muskmelons in his greenhouse.

This year Feng Jun planted 2 greenhouses of green beans and 1 of muskmelons. Although he did not plant much, it still let him taste the sweet rewards. In Feng Jun's vegetable greenhouse, he happily did the economic math for everyone about his greenhouses: in the past, growing corn yielded an average of 1,000 jin per mu, and calculated at 1 yuan per jin, after deducting the costs of seeds, water, fertilizer, and so on, each mu earned less than 800 yuan. Now that he has switched to greenhouse vegetables, taking these 3 greenhouses alone, after deducting the costs of seedlings, farmyard manure, and so on, a net income of 40,000 yuan is completely guaranteed.

While "tending" the muskmelon leaves and vines, Feng Jun described his growing experience: "Greenhouse vegetables need to be 'waited on' like children, so that they can grow better and the yield can be guaranteed." Looking at the growth of the muskmelons and green beans in the greenhouse, Feng Jun was overjoyed. "This year's market conditions are good, and the returns won't be bad either. I believe life will definitely get better and better!" Feng Jun said with a smile.

There are many more farmers like Feng Jun in Xibula Village. Besides growing muskmelons in greenhouses, the villagers also grow strawberries, green beans, tomatoes, and other varieties. In recent years, with the continuous development of rural tourism, plus tourist picking and purchases by fruit and vegetable buyers, the agricultural products here have no worries about sales.

It is understood that Xibula Village currently has a total of 82 greenhouses for melons, fruits, and vegetables, of which muskmelons account for half of the total number of greenhouses. Although only 6 greenhouses are planted with strawberries, the income from one greenhouse of strawberries can reach 50,000 yuan.

The fruits and vegetables in the greenhouses come one crop after another, and the varieties are becoming richer and richer. While continuously filling and enriching ordinary people's vegetable baskets, farmers' wallets are also getting fatter and fatter.
