Adleti: Raising cattle and sheep to get rich

"To escape poverty, one must first set one's mind on it; to get rich, one must rely on oneself." This is a saying Adleti often keeps on his lips.

Adleti lives in Hangl Village, Ahebedou Township, Toli County. On March 21, when we met Adleti, he was feeding the cattle and sheep in the warm shed. Looking at the shed full of cattle and sheep, he could not have been happier.

In 2016, encouraged by the country's various policies benefiting the people, Adleti got rich by raising cattle and sheep.

Adleti said that in the past his parents were old and often ill, and just paying for medical treatment had forced the family to sell everything of value. The six members of the family relied on his alone working and a few mu of land to get by, and life was very hard.

Ever since Adleti began enjoying the county's preferential poverty-alleviation policies, his family's life changed.

Adleti said: "The Party and the government gave me 17 poverty-alleviation sheep, and I also took out a low-interest loan of 50,000 yuan to buy cattle. Now the four of us in the family are doing better with each passing day."

Now that life is better, Adleti's thinking has become active as well. He has new plans for expanding the scale of his farming in the future.

"The sheep have already given birth, and the cattle are about to give birth too. I want to raise the cattle and sheep well. By this autumn, the cattle and sheep will all be ready for market, and my income will reach fifty or sixty thousand yuan. By then I can buy more cattle and sheep." Talking about his cattle and sheep business, Adleti's face was full of smiles.

Adleti said that even though he has escaped poverty, there is still a long way to go. He also plans to expand the scale a bit more, striving to get rich as soon as possible and make life more prosperous.

It is understood that Hangl Village, Ahebedou Township, Toli County, has more than 300 people. The villagers' lives basically depend on farming and herding, and the villagers' income has long remained low.

In recent years, as the country has continued to increase policy support, one policy benefiting the people after another has been implemented in the villagers' homes, and the villagers have one after another embarked on the road to prosperity.

Wulan, Party branch secretary and village committee director of Hangl Village, said: "In the spring of 2016, the government gave each household 17 sheep, 8 large and 9 small, worth 10,000 yuan. In the autumn, according to the villagers' subsidy conditions, each household received a low-interest loan ranging from 20,000 yuan to 50,000 yuan. I believe Hangl Village's tomorrow will get better and better."
