The laying hen farming champion helps fellow villagers get rich

In Xinglongjie Village, Xizi Town, Ningcheng County, there is a household name, a laying hen farming champion. He is 52-year-old Party member and wealth-building leader Li Jingjun.

In 2013, the national chicken industry was affected by disease and prices fell sharply. Li Jingjun keenly sensed that after chicken prices and egg prices fell to the bottom, they would surely rise sharply. In 2014, he boldly invested 1 million yuan, rented 10 mu of an abandoned brick factory below the hill in front of the mountain behind the village, built chicken houses, brooding rooms and feed rooms totaling 2,000 sq m, bought 10,000 chicks, and began raising Hy-Line Brown laying hens.

In the process of farming, Li Jingjun attached great importance to the input of science and technology, hired poultry farming technical personnel at high salaries, and earnestly studied professional knowledge. Relying on a business philosophy based on integrity, rich farming experience and a shrewd mind, Li Jingjun's laying hen farming business grew bigger and bigger. His eggs were sold as far away as Shenyang, Beijing and other places, which brought him considerable returns. In recent years, cumulative profits have reached more than 600,000 yuan.

Li Jingjun's scientific chicken farming set an example in the town. He did not forget his fellow villagers after getting rich, and always kept in mind that "one family being rich does not count as being rich; only when everyone is rich is it truly rich." Many chicken farmers came to learn from him one after another, and he taught his mastered disease prevention and treatment techniques to other chicken farmers without reservation. Some impoverished households wanted to raise chickens but had no money to buy chicks and feed. When Li Jingjun learned of this, he generously helped them. Driven by him, 15 households in the whole village have begun to raise laying hens, with 100,000 laying hens currently on hand, and an average household income increase of 100,000 yuan. At present, more than 100 households in the entire Xizi Town have taken the road to prosperity through hard work by raising chickens scientifically.
