Ji Hongxu: A leader in prosperity through cattle farming

Ji Hongxu is a villager of Liancheng Tun, Tongxing Village, Jinxing Manchu Township, Xifeng County. In recent years, she has opened up a path to prosperity by raising cattle, keeping more than 60 head of cattle in pens each year, breeding more than 30 calves, and earning an annual income of more than 300,000 yuan. She has become a model whom the villagers rush to emulate, and has also set an example for promoting the development of local specialty industries and realizing the dream of prosperity.

Walking into Liancheng Tun, Tongxing Village, Jinxing Manchu Township, the reporter saw corn stalks neatly stacked in front of every household, with cattle in twos and threes leisurely eating fodder at the feed troughs. At the home of Ji Hongxu, a major cattle farmer, the whole family was busy without pause: Ji Hongxu and her mother-in-law were busy cleaning out manure and adding fodder in the cattle pen, while Ji Hongxu's husband was busy neatly stacking the corn stalks just hauled back from the fields on the open ground in front of the house. Ji Hongxu told the reporter that their family had been raising cattle for nearly three years, mainly making money by breeding calves and reselling cattle. At present, Ji Hongxu's family keeps more than 60 head of cattle and breeds more than 30 calves, with an average annual income reaching more than 300,000 yuan.

The power of example is endless. After seeing that Ji Hongxu had escaped poverty and become prosperous by raising cattle, the villagers all rushed to follow suit. He passed on his cattle-raising experience to the villagers without holding anything back, and Ji Hongxu became Tongxing Village's "prosperity-through-cattle-farming leader." At present, nearly every one of the more than 200 households in Liancheng Tun, Tongxing Village raises cattle. The whole village keeps more than 700 head of cattle in total, with average annual total income of more than 3.5 million yuan and an average annual income of nearly 20,000 yuan per household, truly leading the villagers onto the road to prosperity through developing the breeding industry.
