Order-based grain sales model boosts agricultural income
It is grain sales season, and the Tenihe Farming and Livestock Farm of the Hulunbuir Agricultural Reclamation Group in Inner Mongolia is a scene of bustling activity. "Our farm began contacting the market before spring sowing, and now the grain can quickly be turned into cash after harvest." Hou Fuchao, director of the supply and marketing department of the Inner Mongolia Tenihe Farming and Livestock Farm, told reporters that as the farm's grain and oil crops are gradually loaded onto trucks and weighed, 27% of the 368,000 mu of grain and oil crops planted across the entire Tenihe farm has now been sold, totaling 28 million jin.
Agriculture and livestock farming are the pillar industries of Inner Mongolia and the main source of income for rural and farming and livestock production units. In recent years, local agricultural and livestock production units represented by the Tenihe Farming and Livestock Farm have set the goal of developing five major agricultural systems: modern agriculture, disaster-avoidance agriculture, order-based agriculture, ecological agriculture and high-efficiency agriculture. In order to get bumper grain and oil harvests onto the market as soon as possible, they have actively implemented an order-based agriculture strategy, adjusted the planting structure based on market demand, proactively connected with the market, actively sought buyers and contacted potential customers. The grain harvested this year by the Tenihe Farming and Livestock Farm sold for a good price. According to reports, relying on good product quality and a reputation built up over many years, the farm connected with COFCO Malt Co., Ltd. and some traders, and signed sales orders for part of its wheat and milk thistle in advance this spring. The orders first set a floor purchase price, and after the autumn harvest the market price served as the guide, with the higher price being chosen over the lower one, ensuring both the smooth sale of grain and stable crop income for the farm.
At present, Inner Mongolia is guiding farms and other production units to harvest promptly with guaranteed quality and quantity, sell grain early, and ensure that grain harvesting and selling work proceeds without any oversights.
